My Story
My dream started long ago, before my adulthood, before college before I even knew it was my dream and it all started with my 5 years old self, a pair of scissors in our living room curtains, and a doll. My mom’s voice had told the story countless times and that voice has turned into an echo playing in the back of my head for years which I neglected. In another dream, I wanted to be an artist, a famous painter I used to say when I was asked about my dream but instead I became a graphic designer that wasted many years of her life and it wasn’t the one for me. I felt out of place so I quit my job and went home.
I didn’t feel happy for a while and I was trying to find my purpose again so I turned to hand embroidery to calm my anxiety which surprisingly I was good at.
My dad suggested that I go for sewing classes which brings us back to the story that my mother told so many times, that one story that would change my life once I have stopped hearing and started listening.
As my mother walked into the room and saw me excited for the first time in a while and as I was preparing my sewing kit.
She told me that I had a look that she saw once a long time ago and before I got the chance to wonder she continued
“a look of joy and pride! you had this doll that you took everywhere with you and one day I came home from an evening out and found a hole inside our living room’s curtain and I was surprised asked you what happened and your answer was short and simple. My doll needed a dress so I made her one.” I heard that story thousands of times with no clue that one-day making dresses were my true calling.
When the time came to take the step I had one important question to answer first
Why did I Create a fashion brand ?
Creating clothes has given me a purpose full of pride and joy and I want to transform that energy to you in every handmade piece of cloth I make.
Voodoo Cotton is made, for you, you to carry on with you taking part in your journey to discovering who you are and unleashing your true feminine energy. In every outfit there is a story, a feeling, energy, a memory that you are about to experience and take with you to places you have never been before, I believe in dreaming and searching for one’s true purpose and each one of us has a true destiny to obtain
Voodoo Cotton is a love letter for the artists, makers, leaders of tomorrow, the poets who wake up every day to write their own story
I create for such souls a collection of handmade designs that are made for ambitious dreamers who are looking for more, the romantics that believe in love and are full of hope and destiny, and the restless souls that are in pursuit of peace. I have found the calling that would bring me joy and pride and I can’t wait to create clothes for you while you are on the journey of finding yours.
